You would probably be inundated by relatives and friends you had never seen for years creeping out of the woodwork wanting a share. A million would not last long nowadays.

I would like to win the Euro lottery which is hundreds of millions. I would give some of it to a local school and university to help gifted children and people from under privileged backgrounds to make the best of their talents and not be held back by poverty as I was.

I would buy a property where I had no neighbours. Preferably an island.

That ones got my vote, but certain UK charities would do very well, RNLI, Cancer Research UK, Rainbow Trust etc etc.

I would also give something to St Dunstans - a charity which helps disabled ex service people. Some of them are more or less abandoned once they leave the service and end up with severe mental problems and on the streets. Unlike the boat people who are kept in luxury at tax payers expense.

There is actually lots of help from charities and statutory agencies for ex forces personnel.   However, once someone is in the grip of an addiction, or has certain mental health issues, getting them to engage with support agencies isn't always successful.  Ask anyone who is at the sharp end of working with rough sleepers.

If I won a million, we'd move to a detached bungalow with a proper workshop/studio for my OH. We'd share a bit with family, it would be nice to give the grandkids enough to pay them through uni or as a house deposit, and donate to a couple of charities, a local homeless support group, and the BHF.

It is nice to have dreams !.....I used to daydream a lot when I was young !....When I was doing the washing up, I used to sing...and Micky used to say : Can you sing a little faster....I think he was trying to tell me something....either that I would finish the washing up sooner....or that I would stop the singing....that was a bit off the musical scale.... :'( gmx

If I won a million I would happily hand it over to the taxman, but as I don’t do the lottery he can whistle for it!

Winnings are not taxed...

I would make sure Martha and Hattie had enough for deposits to purchase a house..
I would buy myself a new motor (a toppless one) so me and my mates could let our hair down..
I wouldn't move.. It would take more than a million to do so..
Everything will be alright in the end, and if it’s not alright, its not the end.

We'd let certain members of our joint families know that a share of it is what they could have had.

actually your property is already on an island [sorry i couldnt resist]

i would give it to my son and tell him to check my account daily...lol...
then tell everyone he had won it

Just a dream because I dont do the lottery or any competitions.

When I was a librarian you could bet that two or three people would turn up each week with a scrappy little bit of paper (or phone up) wanting my staff to spend time researching the answers to a competition. I put a stop to that. They were shown to the reference section and told that they were welcome to use the facilities to look up the answers but my staff were unable to do so because:-

There was an element of financial gain involved

It was unfair to other competitors

Competitors should do their own research otherwise its cheating

And so on
