Forgetting a US trade deal
« on: Sep 10, 2020, 10:12:55 AM »
A lot is being made today of the threat from Nancy Pelosi that there will be no UK-US trade deal if Boris' plan to undercut the Brexit political agreement goes ahead.  What makes anybody think that we will eventually get an agreement that doesn't strip us to the bone anyway?  I don't think the USA has any real intention of a decent, fair deal, just 'bigging it up' to sound encouraging. The USA has never been a friend to the UK if they couldn't gain by it anyway.  I say forget the USA, there are plenty more fish in the sea (or so the EU say!

The US should look to it's own problems with NAFTA before sticking their oar in our trading waters..We need the dust to settle post-POTUS election before even talking about it..
