They did, but too late. Defeat by three wickets. It really pivoted on that Archer no ball

England's fielding does need to smarten up - over the summer there have far too many dropped catches, fumbles in the field, missed run-out chances. Yesterday the most expensive miss was archer over-stepping when the batsman (without checking back, can't remember which) was on 9 and he went on to make a century, followed by Buttler dropping Maxwell on 44 off Rashid. At least two run out chances missed neither very easy, but neither very hard. Can't blame the fielders for Archer over-stepping, of course, but part of the parcel.
