kitten
« on: Sep 13, 2020, 05:06:06 PM »
Since we are hardly going out and do not have any holidays planned, one of my daughters convinced us that we should buy a kitten.  We have just collected an eight week old bundle of fluff and are trying to settle him in.

He is hiding behind the dishwasher at the moment so we have put his food and a drink nearby to tempt him out.

I expect I will soon have to hide my knitting etc. so that he doesn't 'help'.

We don't have pet cats but a couple of wildish ones live in one of the barns. They only come near me at dinner time.  ::)
Hope you and wee pusswuss bond well and have lots of fun.

Don’t forget. Dogs have owners, cats (even little ones) have staff. All the best with your new boss!

Put it's food on the other side of the room. She'll smell it and start to explore. Too close and she'll just go back behind the fridge for warmth and security.

He’s out now from behind the dishwasher.  Still very nervous and has hidden behind a cushion and is probably asleep.  He is very pretty so we keep accidentally calling him a she.  Maybe give him a masculine name like Alfie?

He had a cuddle with OH and seemed happy.

Michael, we have already been owned by a rescue cat.  She ruled us with a rod of iron for about 18 years.

I don’t know how Michael.  I think there is a lot of tabby there as he has an M on his forehead.
He was terrified a couple of hours ago but is now chasing his tail and investigating my knitting.  We have plenty of rearranging to do tomorrow!  We’ve had to put a ramp to the litter tray as he is so small.

Bless him! It’s amazing just how small a young kitten is, but never forget, to you he’s a small domestic pet, but in his own mind he’s a tiny tiger!
