Buddy (my nephews ginger cat) was terrified when he got him. He had started out with someone who was not very nice to him and he spent the first night hiding beside the bath. Now he is a fully grown cat and acts like he owns the place.

However he still spends a lot of time under beds and in various places where its difficult to reach him. Cats love confined spaces because they are hunters. They like to leap on their prey from cover. So they like places where their back is safe and no one can creep up on them,

The last cat he had caught 3 lots of pigeons on the balcony! She was a small black cat and the birds were nearly as big as her! She didnt kill any of them but they were terrified. Buddy is training the flat mate to catch flies for him and to re-charge his electronic ball.

when we were children we always had cats. One in particular, Tibby, a jet black tom rather small as toms go, surprised us all one summers evening- we were all sitting on deckchairs in the garden, with Tibby apparently asleep by mum's feet. Then a sparrow flew between us, only about four feet off the ground. The 'sleeping' puss leapt into the air and pulled it down. The impact killed the poor bird, so although we relieved Tibby of his prize, it was a bit too late

He was just doing what cats do by instinct.

Here is a useless fact about cats. Only domestic cats can raise their tails up above their backs - "BIG" cats like lions and tigers cannot do this.

Our little bundle of fluff has been with us for about 24 hours now and is settling in very well.  He had an energetic session of chasing his tail and has fallen asleep.  He purrs when he is stroked so seems quite content.

Kenneth is a cat from a couple of doors away.. He often calls by and lays in the sunshine on the decking whilst I drink my coffee..
Also a beautiful black cat will be on my wall just lazing about..
