Scam
« on: Sep 18, 2020, 07:19:32 PM »
Just had a email from an American woman who wants to transfer 500,000,00 dollars to my account of which 50% will go to charities and 50% I can have, she says she only as weeks to live.

I think I will pass on this one.

Now why disappoint the lady? Clearly a generous soul

Open a new account,  especially for her to deposit the money in. To be used for that transaction only.

It's win win. She should be happy with that.

A few days ago an email arrived with an attached "bill" for 800 odd euros. I think I would know if I had spent that much but there are many businesses which might just open it. Also it came on an email I dont use for business. I forwarded it unopened to Chris and he said it was a virus.

So presumably he checked it with a link scanner.

I dont know how he checked it. He uses something called BitDam. I just forward suspicious emails to him. He has has a whole bunch of techy friends he can turn to for help if necessary on the forums these people use.
