it was always said if labour lost the Scots then the UK would be doomed to Tory Govts for ever....
So we get Tory governments because the Scots hate Tory governments. Thanks for the explanation crabby.

I think Crabby is right, at least for most general elections, England has voted for a conservative party majority, but with fifty odd seats in Scotland we have in the past been doomed to a few labour governments. The Scottish gnats have changed that to some extent although we do not know if they would collaborate with an opposition party to overthrow an elected government.

Maybe the Labour Party has got it removed & told her not to be so stupid, as the guy who broadcasts from Dover uses the name Patriot & the Labour Party can't afford to upset the fine dining Prosecco-drinking Islington set by aligning itself to someone who televises fly-on-the-wall facts about illegal immigration which could potentially scupper their supply of cheap domestic staff.

Last time, my concept of a nightmare scenario was a majority formed by Labour and the SNP in coalition

I don't think I could ever definitely assert any Labour parliamentary party member is in any way "patriotic" by my definition of the term.  No names or pack drill but many by past performances are Crypto-Communists and have sided with elements openly opposed to this country and it's interests.

Socialism and Patriotism are, surely, incompatible, as socilaism has at its core the concept of uniting all the workers (most of whom are unemployed) of the world into some sort of global pie-in-the sky heaven.

Actually, while I favour Scottish independence there is this socking great contradiction lying at the centre of the SNP: a socialist
party that seems to be pushing Scots patriotism.

what i need to know is apart from an independent Scotland
just what are the SNPs politics, are they socialist, conservative or liberal
or somewhere in between
because in my opinion, Scotland is a socialist country, with no socialist party worth talking either too, nor about

The SNP are a one-trick-pony independence party & their politics are independence.

I very much doubt that if they get independence they'll have a clue what to do.
