James Naughtie. BBC: At it again!

Crazy. Crazy. Crazy.

As most know any journo would cut off both legs to get this work in Yankeeland.

Dunno if anyone has listened to this chap. Dulcit tones as if uttered from the prophet himself! The reverence given to his reports makes me immediately supplement myself ont'floor: thus is his supposed knowledge and standing.  My other half reckons his reports and religious epithets as much as 'Chippy shops now open,Alf! And add a pickled egg to mine!'

Screw me!

How do they get away with it all?

"Screw me!"

I'd rather not, if it is all the same to you.   8)

I have just come back from a few days in a caravan where we couldn't make the TV work.  We watched a few DVDs in the evening.

I didn't miss it at all after the first couple of days, could I live without it forever? I think maybe I could, but husband maybe not.

Why do we even listen to these people?

Every time I visit Britain, somehow or other I end up in front of a television, and all I see is self-opinionated, smug types
pouting at the camera.

Personally I'd rather pout at myself in the bathroom mirror and mouth my equally daft opinions to my teddy bear.  8)

I've always liked James Noughtie. Whatever he looks like is only important to those who are shallow enough to judge by such things.

In my book £175,000 for 23 hours work is poncing off the licence payers, ipso facto, he's a ponce.

Assuming that is 23 hours a week, that’s £146 an hour. Nice work if you can get it

I guess in my better guise I cant blame the man for pocketing the dosh: swallow the embarrassment, pocket the gold. If you dont pocket it it will be taken by othersand others are doing the same.

When I am in this august and mighty state of mind,I must remember to spread it amongst the lower orders whom others want to hang. I know they dont get much sympathy,so as Naughtie is robbing me,why not  give empathy to those in the slammer whose parents have been feckless, drunkards or worse, those who have been brought up in the wrong environment, taken the wrong path. Thus, forgive the brain challenged bandit who does over olde granny, and maybe rapes her for tops. I really must not discriminate.

Alas,in my olde brain standards,I begin to hate the man and the institution that is so gobbling in greed. I guess I need counselling! Someone, somewhere, tell me here, this sack of gold for a crock worth of sh!t is worth defending.

Wottastarttotheday!

No, it was 23 hours in total, £7,608 per hour so that's why I formed the opinion that he was poncing off the licence payers & therefore seems to be a ponce.

Whether you like James Naughtie or not £7,608 per hour is ludicrous.

No. If you read the link you will see it is 23 hours of broadcast radio over the year. Time producing that and travel would increase the work hours somewhat. Some output may not have got past the cutting room too.

So long and thanks for all the fish
