5 tiers for Scotland
« on: Oct 23, 2020, 02:43:44 PM »
Wee Jimmy has gone 2 better than the rest of the UK by assigning 5 tiers of Covid restrictions to Scotland.
Tier 0 - fairly normal with some social distancing, limits on numbers etc.
Tiers 1,2,3 - similar to rest of UK
Tier 4 - A bit like Wales at present.

It is supposed to be applied at local authority (not health board) level, so it will be more tailored to the area.
We'll know sometime next week what tier we'll be in. Aberdeenshire & Moray have seen pretty low levels of the virus at 22  and  16 resp / 100,000 over last 7 days.   Aberdeen city is a separate authority.
You'll have had your tea.

The lunatics have taken over the asylum.  You'll soon have to take out your ordinance survey  map to check your boundaries and see what tier/level/lockdown you are in.  Your next door neighbour may be locked down and you are out and about.

You're not far wrong.  I lived very near the Hants / Sussex border and one local village was in both counties.
The pub hours were half an hour different between the counties, so after closing time in one, people walked  a few yards across the border for a last drink.

You'll have had your tea.

Dare I ask, what’s top tier? I thought it only went up to three.
Our wedding cake had three tiers & I've been in lockdown since then lol
I’m a real he/him.

I don't understand all the fuss about the lockdown being area / postcode related.

Your car & home insurance are postcode / area related, your health care is often postcode / area related.

What you pay for your home, shopping & petrol is postcode / area related.

I imagine it's when folks one side of a street are on lockdown and those on the other not that causes some moaning.
So long and thanks for all the fish

I once moved from the middle of a city to a small village 3 miles away & my car insurance increased because it fell in the same postcode as the nearest part of the city area.

There has to be a boundary somewhere & there will be winners & losers, otherwise it would be a total lockdown.
