While the Autumn leaves look nice, they create a problem for our only gardener, he has had work piled on him by the council and clearing leaves adds on to his workload. Volunteering to help him is strictly forbidden.

Do you live in the Hall Cee Gee? It looks very substantial.  Nice photo.

It is sad that it's just been left. i wonder why the council think thats ok?  Our local library was once Hillsborough Hall.  The park was the grounds. I wish I could add a photo but heres a link.  https://images.app.goo.gl/q7wstkEczfSDjWhF9

Yes GM it is said. We had a group that used part of the building to provide a cafe and toilets. Along came a councillor who shut down all activites and changed the locks. A group led by said cllr took over and started a fund raising scheme. Needless to say over £130,000 raised has gone. One example of their spending was to have period costumes made for when the hall re-opens at a cost of several thousand pounds. >:(  There have been no toilets in our park for over three years and that puts off lots of people. :(

From an aesthetic point of view I do feel that the overly tall windows lead to an etiolated look.

The photo, on the other hand, is super.  :)

They must start pretty low off the floor

If the ground floor rooms are on the same level as the entrance hall I should think they start at least a yard from the floor:
obviously very tall rooms. I just feel that they should have made the windows a bitt fatter.

I was looking at the distance between the top of the ground floor windows and the bottom of the upper ones. Unless the ground floor windows go right up to ceiling I wouldn't have thought that there would be room for the upper windows to start as much as three feet up
