Well I phoned the hospital yesterday at around 17:30, after numerous failed attempts, & the phone was answered fairly promptly by the ward Sister who said that the nurse to whom I needed to speak was off the ward but she'd get her to phone me when she returned.

Would any of you gamblers care to lay odds on whether or not I received the promised phone call?

Yes,I would if you had asked earlier. You can't place a bet on an event where the result is already known.Or did the nurse specify a time scale?

As soon as she returned to the ward was what I was told.

Thanks both of you,

I'll keep phoning, as I do every day, & at some point I'll eventually get through to the ward & I just hope the relevant nurse is there.

Some days it can be well over 20 calls, many of them engaged tones, before I get to speak to anyone.

Sorry to hear you're having such a time getting news of your wife Phil, it's not as if you're phoning 5 or 6 times a day is it ?   A little understanding wouldn't go amiss.
