All over, that was quick SBS detained 7 people...........

The BBC will be asking how we can now support these traumatised doctors and engineers.  I hope Priti deports them straightaway, no appeals, no legal aid.  If she doesn't, then we'll be in for more arrivals using this method.

I think they may well have committed the offence of piracy under the Merchant Shipping & Maritime Security Act 1997, which carries a maximum prison sentence of life.

The seven pirates should have been neutralised on board the ship.

Life doesn't mean life here though does it ?
They should be put straight on an RAF plane and flown back to Nigeria to face prosecution there - or Libya, I think the ship was registered there.

Thats exactly what should happen to them, but I fear Klondike's comment will be nearer the truth.

I'm not sure as I can't recall any cases of piracy in UK waters in my lifetime.

The main point is that no matter how hard the "Immigrants Welcome" placard waving morons try, these seven can't be dealt with as immigrants of any description.

The only life they're going to get is a life in our country doing whatever they wish.

If this had happened off the coast of Somalia, no ifs or buts, it would be classed as piracy. Here it might be “taking and steering away” but it’s piracy.

The stowaways are reported as Nigerian, I agree they should be returned.  The ship is Greek owned, registered in Liberia.

Coming from Nigeria, I am surprised that they didn't have visas or British passports.

The media are already gulling the gullible by downplaying the incident & calling the pirates stowaways.

Just as illegal immigrants are called immigrants who enter the UK by unauthorised means.

Anything to stop those involved in the incident being called what they are, pirates.
