Anybody remember these?.

I was 15 at the time. I think the headmistress of my school was beginning to realize I will have a bigger influence on her life than a normal pupil. Nobody knew about my future daughters or granddaughters at that point.

I can remember a couple of older people saying these events lead to trouble.
There were no problems with the young where I went to. We had a couple of older people trying to break the events up for problems which were not there.

I remember most of them, but by no means all. Some of them I reckon I haven’t heard since 1963!

Yes, I can well understand your headmistress realising that you weren't a normal pupil.

Those songs had to be written specifically to fit on a 10" record. They don't write songs like that any longer.

By then EPs and LPs were around

If they were any longer they wouldn't fit on a 10" record. ;D

the 10" records were the old 78s which, from memory, could only cope with about two and a half minutes. The early EPs (45 rpm) weren't much better  - in fact, they weren't really 'EPs' at all - but were quickly improved by a narrower, more tightly packed groove. 33 1/3 LPs were already around - certainly by 1963 both 'proper' EPs and LPs were available.

Yes come to think of it, I should have referred to a 7" record, juke boxes being well established in 63 although I don't think my family had one of the new dansette players that early, we still had 78 rpm records, they were probably older.
