A different Botham
« on: Nov 19, 2020, 06:47:23 AM »
All being well Wales will give a debut to a flanker this weekend - one James Botham, who is the grandson (!) of Lord Botham. Doesn't seem possible that so much time has elapsed since his granddad's exploits! It seems no time at all since James' dad, Liam, had a promising Rugby League career cut short by injury, yet it's 15 years ago  😥

Second Test against New Zealand at Christchurch Feb 1978. When Boycott asked Beefy 'What have you done?' The answer was 'I've run you out you {next word not suitable for a family forum}

I was pleased to find that google confirms my guess at the missing word. Doubtless the algorithms will be confused as that is the first cricket related search I have ever made.

I hope it's a memorable debut and a good game..My £140-odd per annum tv 'licence' won't be enough to allow me to watch it.
