do you remember radio plays ,
« on: Nov 29, 2020, 08:43:37 AM »
Way back in the past most people listened to the radio and many younger people still do, but back then, the plays that were heard on the radio such as dick Barton, Paul temple, the man in black, and Saturday
nights for some then were a must in the way of entertainment as people listened to a play to which some were very good ,

Q; so what else do you remember when radio was king in the past,

You sometimes get good plays and series from way back, or Radio4 extra.
You'll have had your tea.

I remember listening to Top of the Form.  Also Take your Pick, Workers' Playtime, and Mrs Dale's Diary.

I bought a lot of them on MP3 Discs from Ebay several years back. I often listen to them when I'm doing my online jigsaws or knitting. Favourites at the moment are, Jimmy Clithero, Navy Lark, Man in Black.

Radio 4 is such a good source of such things and I listen most days for an hour or two..

I remember Journey into Space I used to sit on my Dad's knee to listen to this.  I think it was on a Sunday about 6pm.  In those days I found it quite scary.ssssssssssssssssssssssss

I was an avid fan when they were were first on. A good few years later they were repeated, which I really looked forward to, bu sadly I no longer found them funny.
Harry Seecombe died on Veronica’s ward

I loved Dan Dare and Journey into Space. Back then girls were not supposed to like syfy so I was called a tomboy. I also had a train set a fort and a meccano set (all second hand).

Back in the 1980s there used to be a daily short story on the radio. I used to enjoy those.
