Mince Pies
« on: Dec 05, 2020, 04:37:03 PM »
Home made IS best, but I stopped baking them a few years ago and now tend to buy from the supermarket, or the local baker.  I was surprised to read that this year, the best supermarket mince pies were made by Iceland :) with Asda coming in second.   Anyone tried these yet  ?

I just don't like mince pies so won't be giving them a try.

A toasted hot cross bun with loads of Lurpak and a smear of raspberry seedless goes down well.

I like mince pies. But I'm trying (and slowly succeeding) to lose weight, so I just have the mini ones.   Sainsbury's are nice.

Mini mince pies are ok but because they are small you need twice as many..
Over the last few years I don’t think Waitrose or M&S have been up there in the ‘best’.. Asda always does well in surveys..

Love mince pies, especially those Veronica used to make, but am now restricted to shop bought from Tesco. Very ‘moreish’

Mrs. T makes our own mincemeat  and  pies.  Yummy!   Don't buy many sweet pies / tarts , but the Portuguese custard tarts from Lidl are superb.
