Yes he should leave like Old Boris, (whatever his name is) who's applying for membership as a volunteer frog I understand. Imagine Hislop could be happy as the verger in this modest place of worship just outside Bruges a place very dear to him. His old mate Guy Verhofstadt could always put a Euro in the pot each Sunday a lot of flemish comes up all over the place apparently?

Yes I felt that with Hitler too - an ogre, but just loved his Tiger Tanks ;) !

Lol. Me too, I loved the German 3rd Reich military engineering.

Whist I recognise the name of Ian Hislop and vaguely remember seeing him on somquiz show I watched for a few minutes, can’t say I know anything more about him. What sort of views does he propound?

I used to take Private Eye back in the 60s and 70s. Can't remember when I stopped taking it - but from memory I got tired of its constant negativity (rather like an earlier incarnation of today's BBC!)

Yes when Richard Ingrams was the editor way back before Hislop it was a lot of fun, knocking the political class and opinion roundly. Post referendum it became like reading the Guardian.

I used to have a sub too but don't recall just when I cancelled it. I remember seeing that front page in a supermarket magazine stand and was quite shocked by it. I can only assume I'd cancelled before the referendum as I had no idea the mag had gone full on remainer.

When Ian Hislop was on Have I Got News for You, I thought he looked so smug - even before he said anything.  Once Angus Deayton left of course, the show went downhill imo   :D

A presenter can make or kill a show. Angus Deayton was brilliant. Far too many of the guest presenters certainly aren't. The format at the start of Lockdown 1 was so dire it became unwatchable. Recent ones are improving but of course you won't have seen any since you binned your licence  though will you Alex?

No I haven't seen it for years Klondy . I still watch some ITV progs on the ITV Hub though.  I get the news on You Tube, I really don't miss BBC at all, or any live TV come to think of it. ;)

My wife has only just figured out how to use the Freesat box. Tablets, PCs or any tech since the 1980s is an absolute anathema to her (although she did eventually work out how to use text on a Nokia) so it's easier for me to just pay the TV tax.
