Dirty gas, oil coal and (shhhh) CO2 free nuclear.


Not sure how much coal fired capacity we have left. Some of it is going over to using wood pellets which, apart from production and transport, are carbon neutral.

The day referred to is December 27th.According to Gridwatch the demand on the day was unusually low and as stated the wind was unusually high.Even so wind only supplied half of demand for a few minutes in the early morning.Usually it varies between 5% and 20% and being wind,is impossible to plan for.

My son has one of those bloody great pellet stoves in his cottage, cost a fortune to install and has to have bags lugged in to keep filled up, I'll stick to my Oil heating thanks.
