And a side order of Brussels Sprouts to be ostentatiously deposited in a waste bin with expression of disgust

Nice people to have been in business with for nearly fifty years eh and still pour £39 bn down their oily throats? I will never consume any thing Dutch again. The 'Gouda' in the fridge will be the last I eat. Hopefully others will start exercising their consumer power too. Why deal with these embittered people who hate us so much? Hopefully many new products from our old commonwealth partners and friends will start to reappear in British shops again. The gainsay in 1972 when Ted Heath's bag of lies and distortion opened the doors for so many European brands unseen here before.

Haven’t had Gouda in years. No reason, just prefer other cheeses. That apart, I can’t remember buying anything Dutch

They specialise in flowers of course and I bet you've bought Shell Petrol too! Phillips radio, Spar shops, Heinekan etc. Plenty to boycott! Cretinous, all over a petty sandwich, good job to see they've got their jobsworths too!

I fear we turned our backs on the Commonwealth countries in favour of the EU, I hope they won't hold it against us.

Ah, do you know, for the life of me I can’t remember what our filling station is. Must check, but it is the only one I can use at the moment

So far the signs are good, too much family and ties to separate completely I feel. Churchill closed his great 'Fight them on the beaches speech thus:

"We shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old."

I like to think that cordial convivialty still exists and indeed is a value we should never have considered losing to the petulance of some of our oldest critics and enemies.

The 'cloggies' do Mike, I once played against a Dutch side and they were rather good and played very skilfully. Their National side has played in four world cups too.
