Read the label
« on: Jan 13, 2021, 05:33:55 PM »
Twice now I’ve been caught out in Sainsbury’s.
“No beef lasagna”.
“No chicken masala”.

WOT NO MEAT!!
Only noticed once I started to eat the muck.
Now I need to look for something else.

If you do so during the nesting season it would be better to soak them first. Young birds need things like nice succulent caterpillars and if the parent birds just stuff them full of dried mealworms they could dehydrate and die. Best not to have any fat out for the same reason.

We found out after losing a nestful of blue tits and found out it was almost certainly a mixture of those two being easily available that probably did it.

For the birds then.....not for me.
I suppose for people’s food it will be in the small print, no pictures on the label.

There is a lot of stuff in foods you don't know about if you don't read the label and don't have a degree in advanced obfuscation.

I could go hunter gatherer but there’s only cats round here.
Oh I did have a badger in the garden one night....probably after a cat.
