This one was very slim a while ago. When I put the food out the first to arrive and last to go. ;D

;D  I have Tweedle Dum to your Tweedle Dee.. Had a word with him about it this morning and he said the worst is yet to come.. Personally I think he's justifying his gluttony.

Great photo, the ones in the forest here are never still long enough for you to get a shot off. If you do manage it's always a blur.

Yes a lot, they outnumber the greys.

Only even seen a couple of reds around here, but see far fewer greys than used to be the case. When we first came here in 2003 greys were a frequent garden visitor. Can’t remember the last time I saw one in the garden

Mike, did you never walk your wee doggie up the back of Kinoull Hill? I walk Dageus there most days when I'm down in Perth I meet up with other dog walkers I've known for years. There is a good few up the back of the Rangers Station, about 100 yards up the brae seems to be their playground.

We used to walk up the hill, but never saw any reds, although other folk have - I think they must hide from southerners! Haven't walked the hill since Veronica could longer manage it from 2008

i have already posted this but i feel it fits in nicely here
in Bar Hill in Cambridge i saw a black squirrel, i immediately Googled it
it seems that they like the greys are migrants from the USA
and where the greys are bigger than the reds and so kill them
the blacks are bigger than the grey and so kill them
if we get bigger squirrels they might be big enough to fit on a sarnie
they are allegedly very tasty

can you remember Audie Murphy?
i read his life story many moons ago
when he was a kid he had to feed the rest of the family on squirrel meat
and that is how he became such a good shot, he could not afford to miss
the environment ministry wants us to kill as many grey squirrels as possible because they are vermin, tree-rats, and are killing off our very own red squirrels
just as the American Signal  crayfish are decimating our rivers and can now be found in some Scottish rivers they burrow into the river-banks weakening them and leaving them close to collapse, yet you need a licence to trap them...

Don't know about Audie Murphy, but I did know about the greys killing off our reds.

He was America’s most decorated soldier of WW2. After the war turned to acting, often in Westerns. Died in a plane crash quite a long time ago
