ESA Support Group partner reaching pension age
« on: Feb 01, 2021, 03:06:29 PM »
I’m hoping someone can answer this question in a clear and simple way.
I have found stuff on the internet but to be honest it all seems to be in some sort of legal speak which mere mortals like myself find hard to understand.
I am the main claimant in ESA support group.  My parter turns pension age 66 in Feb.
My questions are
Will my partner have to claim pension?
Will he have to make a separate claim for housing benefit?
Can we just stay as we are until I reach pension age
or do I have to make a claim for housing benefit.
I’m so confused about the above
Many thx in advance

What age are you?

Does your partner claim ESA?

So at the moment does your husband not have any income in his sole name?

It's one of the areas where you really need a benefit assessment as to do it over a forum would need too many personal details & would take dozens of posts that are then on the forum for ever.

However, this site seems a good one for a clear explanation.

Also you can ask Carer's UK, of which I'm a member, although I no longer need their support, to give you specific benefit advice.
