The wonderful West Indies fast bowler who played for Glamorgan as well as the West Indies has died aged 63 in Barbados, knocked off his bike!
I remember Trevor Bailey telling a few of us at Westcliffe one day in the late seventies he'd seen the nearest thing to perfection in a quick bowling action in this gifted, gentle and thoroughly likeable man.
Banned by his country for going on a South African rebel tour he was the only member of that team to play for his country again, but then aged 32.
Frighteningly quick at times and so graceful whilst he did it! Later on, he also developed Jason Holder from the St Michael School, where he was Cricket Coach.
A truly lovely man and a terrible and needless way for such a life to end. God bless Ezra and thank you for sharing your gift and your life with those of us who love the game.
