British (Foreign Owned) Vehicle Firms on the Brink
« on: May 30, 2009, 12:21:39 PM »
LDV and GM - Vauxhall in the UK appear in great danger of collapse.

They are both underpinned by foreign owners (LDV by British Tax Payers money at present).

This government taking hands off and light approach to what could be the loss of tens of thousands of jobs, many of them indirect.

The interest from foreign owners gauged by the amount of UK Tax Payers they can obtain.

I am concerned as are all involved, the biggest problem is that with the highest of taxes, a mountain of bureaucracy, high production costs follow in the UK.

Whilst it is possible to cosh the end customer, as is the UK norm.

Manufacturing can be carried almost anywhere and I am not able to think of anything that cannot be produced cheaper, even next to nothing elsewhere.
