Should have said I wear mine on the left when possible. Often as not it is in my hat, as unless one has a proper buttonhole, the modern plastic stems just won’t push into cloth

I have a poppy brooch which comes out every year. I put money in the tin, but don’t take a poppy.  This year I’ll wear it on the right. 👍🏽

I wrote a posting one one forum that I admired the American patriotism, love of country, respect for the flag and for their military. A troll said that was pathetic.

I found American patriotism rather overblown but they certainly are 'patriotic'. Unfortunately that patriotism quickly turns to active protectionism if somebody wants to take their many, very many guns from them. Or if they feel their borders are threatened or if somebody elects the wrong President..
Several million, heavily armed people scattered over the land make up a formidable force. I'm glad they're so inward-looking as a Nation.

Trebor..
I too admire their patriotism..  America The Beautiful.. and their Anthem is stirring ...
Much prefer it to our dull anthem..

With the Yanks and their attitudes to gun violence, it all seems very hypocritical. Bangin' on about Jesus while carrying automatic weapons..

Full automatics got banned. I think they also banned the crafty "bump stocks" that jarred the weapon so it made semi autos virtually automatics. That came after one of the many school shootings I think. Still they all had a nice religious service to remember the victims I suppose.
