As an incomer to South Yorkshire, putting ‘our’ (often pronounced ‘aar’) in front of family members’ names was unfamiliar to me. For quite a while I thought a colleague was referring to her daughter Anne Marie. Turned out it was ‘aar Marie’.

they certainly did in my part of Scotland
