I have always enjoyed the Last Night of the Proms and personally I would much prefer the following as our National Anthem.

It’s a great anthem for England, not for the rest of the UK though.

Always brings a lump to the throat. As an anrpthem for England hard to imagine anything better, but I agree with granny

Imagine the outcry if Jerusalem were to be built on England's green and pleasant land.And no way did those feet walk upon pastures green,or any other hue,around these parts.

If you have St.George's flag for England it is only apt that "Jerusalem" should be the anthem, seeing he was Palestinian and it is the capital of Palestine. Personally I think a Beatles song would be better...

i certainly agree that England should have its own Anthem... then we could get one written for the UK... but why would Jerusalem be an English Anthem....

Try reading the lyrics(I used to call them words) They don't make much sense in the modern world.
