I hope he is suitably impressed by his image Dottie. Personally, I am hopeless with people! :-*

Quite right Oldtimer.  :)Years ago I was skimming through a local paper were a painting of a man caught my eye, as someone I knew. On reading the article it was about an old friends father who was a well known character in the city and had been painted by an admirer of his on his death and I thought to myself "It doesn`t really look like him!" and then I laughed to myself because, of course it did, if not I wouldn`t have noticed the article in the first place! ;D The more I looked at the picture, the more I could see Frank in it.

Thank you all, it's oil painting in general but do sometimes dabble in other things but am not at all confident in water colours

What an excellent oil painting that is Dottie.  I'm hopeless at any kind of portrait.  I find them extremely difficult.  The likeness to the photo is astounding. :)
"Don't you know?" said Miss Marple.
"No, I don't," said Craddock.  "Do you?"
"Oh, yes, I think so," said Miss Marple.  And she twinkled at him.

Thank you Jane, I like oil because you can take it off if you make a mistake.
