Just an idea ...in a similar vein to 'hangman' anyone interested in listing which ( let's say 5 ) records they'd take with them to the proverbial Desert Island ?

There's quite a number of songs I like listening too, so I'll try and pick out just five.  I think one would have to be - Pleansant Valley Sunday - The Monkes, Classical Gas - Mason Williams, (I think his name was Mason!) Waterloo Sunset - The Kinks, - Daydream Believer - The Monkees, Whiter Shade of Pale - Procal Harum.  :)   There's loads more, if I could take a large bag! ;D
"Don't you know?" said Miss Marple.
"No, I don't," said Craddock.  "Do you?"
"Oh, yes, I think so," said Miss Marple.  And she twinkled at him.

If you like sex ....sorry meant sax ,....then you must love the great Earl Bostic
Flamingo 1951

Earl was extraordinary. He developed a way of playing the alto-sax that still baffles sax-players today. His ability to play EXTRA NOTES - and his use of a tenor-sax reed - enabled him to make his alto-sax sound BIGGER than the larger instrument.

The late great hollywood film composer , Henry Mancini , has a daughter who is a great singer !
Big star in the USA & Europe but sadly because the UK is geared up for popsters and the younger generation , we neve see or hear people like her !

I could give you my five for today.... Beatles Long And Winding Road, David Gilmours Smile, Kinks Autumn Almanac, Roxy Musics More Than This and Jeff Becks Corpus Christi Carol but It would probably change again tomorrow as my listening range and enjoyment of music is never ending. What a great new thread Terry.  :-*
