annoying music during programmes
« on: Mar 01, 2010, 12:51:34 PM »
The quality of programmes has declined but it is soooo annoying when trying to watch a reasonable programme and the loud music drowns out the naration, what the actors are saying etc ... all you can hear is the darn music ... so annoying !  Why on earth are all Directors etc doing it?  It isnt just us being elderly - our son and daughter in law also find the problem annoying ..

I agree, there is no need for a musical score to be present throughout, just on the bits where there is a perceived need to heighten the emotional atmosphere, or where there is no dialogue.

There is one film with no incidental music at all just the credit music. It is a war Film, One Of Our Aircraft Is Missing, and in my opinion music isn't needed, as the film is dramatic enough.
