Steam Toy Rally........
« on: Nov 04, 2015, 08:58:10 AM »

I guess, many of us remember the steam engine toys, from when we were younger.
There is still a wordwide, thriving hobby. Collecting and enjoying these engines.......

Here's a Mamod, I modified earlier.......

There's a little steam club with a man-made lake and railway track near here. Every Wednesday quite a few people gather and "show off" their models. Just love the static models they show and would love to make one but don't have the equipment any more.

This post is my opinion, which you may not like, but I'm entitled to it.

That's a lovely model of a tandem compound engine, CC!  :)
I've never made anything so complicated. Preferring my hot air, and vacuum engines.
Nothing quite beats the buzz, when a build first comes to life.......  ;D

Is it supposed to buzz? Thought they went 'chuff chuff'?

Dayjo, CC, not near either of the shows but it's nice to see the models.

Oh what a shame, Dayjo, it is Jeffs volunteer day at Bruntingthorpe on Saturday. We love to see these sort of things and admire the skill that goes into making them. Hope you have a successful day.  :) :-*

I liked your Mamod Dayjo, I still have a more basic version out in my shed which I intend to "do up" one of these days.

Aww..... That's a pity, you can't make it. It's (usually), very nice. Finally meeting, a forum friend.
