Morning all, it had a good rain yesterday afternoon and evening, and is a nice day again today

Artangel, we have maybe had the BP machine 10 years, hubby uses it regularly. I was lent one from the GP recently for me to do mine as they felt it was calibrated right, I think ours was just as accurate.
Don't know where you would get them re-calibrated, if postage was involved it would be just as cheap to buy new

Today, hubby goes to have that op behind his ear.

Hope you all have a pleasant day whatever you choose to do

Valerian, l hope your husband’s ear op goes ok for him. I hope you’ve bought him a nice treat.... like a cream doughnut, or a chocolate eclair!!

Yes, l agree, it would be better to buy a new BP machine rather than mess about packing it and sending it off somewhere.

No treats for hubby, not going to the shop. He likes my fruit cake anyway, but thanks Artangel

Val,  hope your hubby's alright today.

It says this in my Omron leaflet:

It is generally recommended to have the device inspected every 2 years to ensure correct functioning and accuracy.

Contact Omron Customer Care on 01908 258285.

I suppose its a bit like getting your car serviced to make sure its running well.   You could always ring that number and ask how much a service is,   then at least you have a choice.

Good afternoon all.
After another bloomin' awful sticky night again, it is a bit cooler today thank goodness.  Very grey and overcast.
We need rain though.   Soil is like concrete,  and water butts just about empty.

Got to pop round to my GP later to ask him a couple of things,  but not really doing much else.

Done the morning chores, gone with my daughter and her friend’s dog for a pleasant stroll round Sale water park, done a bit more of my water feature/woodwork project.

Now getting ready to go out with Mrs Dex for a couple of hours.  Might make some mayonnaise later (new experience for me) and if successful mix in some onion and cheese to make a sandwich spread.

Nothing much else planned.

Let us know how it went Val.

What a palaver, he had to be at the hospital for 12.30, they said he was first on the list, but when they told a lady she would be last on the list, she fainted and so they did her first, and my hubby became the last on the list. It was 20 to 6 before he rang to say he was allowed to go home now, so off I went for him.
In the end they did a skin graft after all, which originally they said if they were to do that it would be general anaesthetic, this was done under local anaesthetic, he's not to do anything strenuous for the next 7 days, and they will see him again in a week, and again in 6 weeks (I hope they can manage not to make that a Wednesday as we have organised a coach trip for that day)
Meanwhile he needs to rest and sleep with head and feet raised.
Oh and as the hospital pharmacy was closed by then, he has to go back tomorrow to collect antibiotics and pain killers.

Clever lady, fainting like that! Pfffft.

But, both head and feet raised? Is that even possible? Hope he feels ok and wish him a speedy recovery.
