What a palaver, he had to be at the hospital for 12.30, they said he was first on the list, but when they told a lady she would be last on the list, she fainted and so they did her first, and my hubby became the last on the list. It was 20 to 6 before he rang to say he was allowed to go home now, so off I went for him.
In the end they did a skin graft after all, which originally they said if they were to do that it would be general anaesthetic, this was done under local anaesthetic, he's not to do anything strenuous for the next 7 days, and they will see him again in a week, and again in 6 weeks (I hope they can manage not to make that a Wednesday as we have organised a coach trip for that day)
Meanwhile he needs to rest and sleep with head and feet raised.
Oh and as the hospital pharmacy was closed by then, he has to go back tomorrow to collect antibiotics and pain killers.
