sissel
« on: Mar 30, 2021, 01:54:03 PM »
A lady of whom I had never heard. Flipping through YouTube, I came across a version of her of  'You'll never walk alone'with many claiming it was the best version ever. Listened to it - she is very good, but I still prefer the original by Gerry and the Pacemakers. On the other other hand, she sang the Unchained Melody, just about my favorite pop song of all time - and I have never heard such an emotive rendition - a tribute to lost love

It is from Carousel Crabby. Another Rogers and Hammerstein classic..It's from the 'Graduation scene' at the end of the show where the dead Billy looks down on his little girl's graduation ceremony. Not a dry thigh in the house..I suppose they could've sung Ferry cross the Mersey instead.. ;D
