I'm also aware that a lot of ME and pathology findings are politically convenient and often biased and that the Coroner, as an electee is subject to the whims of his/her superiors, sometimes..

Maybe I'm being naive, but I thought medical examiner and pathology finding were down to science, not political convenience  ???

The world is probably a better place without him, but the officer is in a lose-lose situation
Mike

The trial pretty much a waste of time the police officer in for the high jump no matter what.

Well world possibly is but then again maybe the police department will end up better off too. It should be possible to police thugs without becoming one yourself.
So long and thanks for all the fish

Of course had George Floyd been white, the case wouldn't have made next day's papers.

With nothing other than media crap and gossip about his 'bad rap 'n rep' to go on, I think that's a particularly unkind thing to say about a man murdered in the street by a haughty cop, Mike but you're entitled to hold that opinion ..

Look him up. Served seven jail terms, a convicted criminal. His death was uncalled for in its manner - two wrongs don’t make a right, but if he hadn’t resisted arrest he might well still be alive

Nope. Sorry but there's no middle to meet at. He was murdered. Blatantly and in public. I don't care what kind of trouble he'd been in before, he was a free man walking when he was killed.

Actually, he wasn't. He was being arrested. I agree that, from we have been able to glean he was unlawfully killed - but he was resisting arrest and contributed to his own demise.

Of course! It's the victims fault as ever.. and I'm not even saying it's cos he was black cos surely every black or BAME person knows better than to even look at a white cop.

Bit racist there , sir. You are implying - at least in the USA - that black - good, white = equals bad.
In the words of the song - 'it ain't necessarily so'

I meant innocent of killing George, but he did use undo force, so he will have to receive some sort punishment, or there will be riots.

I've just been listening to tapes being played in court and you can clearly hear George Floyd say " I ate too many drugs " this was during his resisting arrest.   We all know which way this will probably go, but there are a few bits of evidence which point to him overdosing and having heart failure.  Not helped of course by Officer Chauvin pinning him down.
