As I expected, lots of supermarket trolleys. That cannon ball is a find. must have been a damn strong magnet to pull that up.

I was talking to Hattie, my granddaughter, she loves the idea of magnet fishing.. It sounds fun and a simple thing to do.. Love it..

You can buy the magnets on eBay (or at least you could when I looked a while back) - some amazingly big numbers for their pulls are quoted.

I will get a couple to add to Christmas presents.. The ones I saw were around 12 pounds each.

You should try the Neodium magnets out of a hard drive, you certainly wouldn't want those to clamp round your finger.

Talking about magnets, if you have a grandchildren who want magnetic fake tongue piercings, don't let them & warn their parents.

There's a magnet underneath the tongue & a fake stud magnet on the top of the tongue but they can easily get swallowed & it can up as a bowel operation to remove them.

The fishing ones are made out of the same stuff but that are pretty big.

Here you go - why shop at the garage when you could pull yout next car out of the local gravel pit....

I have a Sea Searcher magnet with a pull of 140lb's which I use on the boat. Biggest problem is when launching over the side it can have a tendency to seek out the steel hull of the boat and they are a pig to remove especially when they attach below the water line.

Used it once when a brand new satelite dish pinged of the boat roof into 4 foot of water and it would not locate it, used a grappling hook which found it, it was made of plastic  :-[

It must have had some conducting surface or you was 'ad. Not steel necessarily of course and not desireable on a boat either probably.

Electrostatic sprayed fibreglass, and the aluminium fixing bar, Aldi's best 12v portable, just did not think when they said portable it meant it liked a swim. To be fair it is a good dish with excellent reception, just a faff setting it after every journey, spends most of its time in the cupboard.

I guess the picture goes if the boat is rocking but maybe it isn't important then?  :)
