Me too. I'm on this forum because there's always been a reasonable mix.  If we all just communicated by email, the forum would die, and I'd hate to see that happen.

Can't say it bothers me but it isn't something I'd choose to indulge in on any regular basis. Like many I have put an email address in my profile should somebody have a need but don't really expect it to get used.

I recall reading that the forum private messaging feature was removed in the past because of misuse which I assume was probably discussing somebody behind their back. Not something I'd do - if I have a problem with a poster I'll say so in public. A problem with a post I'd report to the moderator and let him decide.

I agree,Klondike.In fact,I enjoy it when we have rows/disagreements in the open forum.I don't necessarily like you all,but I do love you all.There's a difference.

If someone gets in touch with me , then I will answer them..
 I certainly don’t use email to chat behind anyone’s back..
I am an up front sort of person..

On other fora I have used PM or e-mail to correspond with members on items irrelevant to the forum as a whole  -usually help me with computer problems

I suppose it depends on how folk use it. I have been a member of several fora without it being a problem. Only here does it seem to be so, and I can’t understand why

Crabby is the only person I've talked to away from the forum and as he's in my Facebook friends, he often sends me funny wee videos. Nothing sinister in that, I was just saying he was around when someone asked where he was.
