Vintage Sewing, Knitting and Crocheting Fashions

I did not know whether to post this here or in the Hobby section of the forum. I know that many people were taught to sew, knit and crochet by our beloved grandmothers and mothers. I am one of them.
I found a place online where you can browse old sewing, knitting and crocheting patterns. They span the early 1900's all the way to the 2000's. There are two links to these places called wikis.
One is the Knitting and Crochet Pattern archive for old knitting and crocheting patterns:
http://knittingcrochetpatternarchive.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page
One is the Vintage Pattern wiki for sewing patterns:
http://vintagepatterns.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page
You can find old patterns or you can participate in these collaborative wikis by adding your own old patterns. It is kind of fun to look at what was popular during the different decades.

If you have just retired, a new sewing machine would be a good retirement present to yourself. One of my friends bought herself a fancy computerized quilting machine, so she can machine quilt to her hearts content now that she is retired.

There are some lovely patterns in the Knitting that would still be fashionable among the older generation I think. I still love my plainish comfy cardi's
