Jeff (feisty fox) and I have retaken up the past time of jigsaws, thought you make like to see two of our latest ones. The first is a globe of the world that my sister bought us and now sits proudly next to the computer. The second is called Three minis and I`m sure all who remember the 60s will see why! We now have one in progress called Rememberance and is a picture of the Lancaster flying over St Pauls cathederal.

I love the puzzle of the Globe Rita. We are addicted to jigsaw puzzles and as soon as we finish one we start another. Recently finished one of the " Last flight of Concorde" It was a hard one to do but well worth the finished picture. It is amazing the number of people that visit and just stop by the puzzles and look for pieces. Your puzzle of the Minis bought back lots of happy memories of the old days.

Rita
I looked at the globe first before reading your script and was amazed by it, what a great puzzle, I remember actually doing the one with the Minis myself that brought back a few memories for me too.
Funny how when the evenings get longer the puzzles come out

Dottie, it is all a trick of the eye and some clever photo jiggery pokery by the fox!
It really is a complete globe of the world and is on a stand! Of course Jeff wanted it to look as if it was spinning in the air and had me standing on the step ladders in the garden holding the globe in the air (goodness knows what the neighbours thought!)
then he put the photo into the computer and in "Photo shop" erased the stand that it spins on. Clever eh?

I do Jigsaws on screen, I can take any image and make a jigsaw of itthe software allows setting number of pieces from about 18 to 1200 and also the shape, a lot depends on the size of your screeen and your eyesight; I have a 23" screen and the eyes are not what they were so I go for between 300 and 350; It can take anything from 30 minutes to a couple of hours to do a puzzle. The software keeps time, if you exit it will retain your "position" and time. I sometimes do 4 or 5 a day.
The programme can be downloaded with a few samples,it costs $9.99 for the smallest number of samples (which I didn't bother doing!)

I don't like jigsaws and haven't tackled one for years, they give me a headache,
my Dad used to work at Chad Valley, he operated a jigsaw making wooden jigsaws.
