Just checked. In fact the combination 'caught Marsh, bowled Lillee' occurred 95 times and is the most prevalent fielder/bowler combination in Test history.

Nicknamed Iron gloves after dropping a lot of catches in his first Test, he showed great resilience .

Can't remember which Chappel was his captain at the time - think it was Ian - but he reportedly told Marsh 'If you can't hold the XXXX thing, we'll find someone who can' As a motivational speech, it seemed to work!
