Hi dont know if this is the place to post but can somebody tell me what curtains are called that you thread through curtain wire to put up on windows,do not want a curtain pole.

Most fabric curtains are likely to be too heavy for a curtain wire (with or without a kitten swinging from them!)

I think they are usually called horrible.

I would still call them curtains, unless you are thinking those half curtains, which i'd call cafe curtains

You can also buy tension rods which look better than 'wires' and are much narrower than poles.

talking of curtains.  I saw some absolutely beautiful curtains in Next but I was horrified to see they were over £300, hmmmppph I want them but I'm not paying that. 


These are the one, they actually look nicer in 'real life' than in the picture.

I’ve just bought a pair of lined curtain, plus tension rod, as I’d hoped to put them up at the bedroom window, ward off the cold a bit (I have shutters). Unfortunately they are a bit heavy for the rod, plus I need to lose a good few inches from the bottom (which I knew by the measurements). I could use one curtain, on the main window.

I want some Roman blinds but the cost is quite horrendous .
