In my opinion it is totally ridiculous done by non Maori people, I think white people doing it is an insult it's not their culture, I wonder what the Maori's really think?

Many  of the NZ rubgy team are Māoris .
I think they will be proud that their traditions are kept up.
You seem to be very conscious of colour in people Jacquline
The Māoris are New Zealanders but have intermarried  with non Maoris ( Pakeha) so many seemingly white people do have Māoris  blood .If you have Māoris blood you are considered a Māoris whatever your colour .
I have a friend who is half Māoris half Scottish  she is one of a family of 10 children.
They consider themselves New Zealanders.

The NZ ladies rugby team the Black Ferns are presently playing the Red Roses ( UK] in the World Cup final.
We are slightly ahead at the moment .
