I love Lowry and wish I had one .
There is a local artist not too far from me who likes to make Lowry style figures who is liked by Mrs Scally so much, we have several of her pieces around the house. She doesn't appeal to me as I'm into the old masters with The Arnolfini Wedding as my top favourite. There is something about Jan van Eyck's work that hits the spot for me👍

I was in the UK the other week for a home match at Deepdale and was staying with friends at Knott end....Got a couple of photos taken with his sculpture on the quayside.

I did this several years ago inspired by some of his his subject matter.

Beast when you were in Knott End did you notice the stainless steel "statue/sculpture" of Lowry and his  dog at the top of the ferry slip?

Yes Em, as I posted, had a couple of photos taken with him and his dawg.
Bloody hell it was a windy day and a walk along the path following the estuary was somewhat bracing.
Then went to the Black bull in Preesall for a couple of pints of Boddingtons. First time in seven years. Loved it.

This is excellent you must post more of your paintings .🙂

My MIL used to live around the corner from Lowry and was on polite chatting terms with him.  The back of her house overlooked one of the mills he based at least one of his paintings on.

My interpretation of how ' Hamas' appears to the world.

A weird and controversial theme, I know.

It’s certainly violent with the colours red and black .
( the colours that babies chose if they are allowed - maybe we ate intrinsically violent ?

The Turner Prize

Another load of rubbish

Poor old Turner must be turning in his grave .

I agree. Who judges this rubbish, and declares it as art? That `sculpture` isn't much different to a neighbour's garden after the recent gale force winds. It blew his fence all over the place.

Obviously it is good art because it challenges you. Isn't that the point?
