We should listen to those who know

I think individual politicians should be held to account when making pledges to get elected.
I don’t care what Party is pledging to stop the boats BUT they should tell us all, when & how? They shouldn’t be allowed to serve their full term in office if they fail...

Could we send the SAS with some snipers to fire at the boats to puncture them before they leave French shores ?
Presumably some drone knows where they are ?

These dinghies are being launched in broad daylight, not one should make it off the beach. Surely the French police have the capabilities of puncturing all of them.

Odd that countries have the knowledge to stop missiles but are screwed when it comes to stopping rubber dinghies 😂

Watched an interview with a French policeman and he was saying as soon as the boats hit the water no matter how deep they have been told to go no further

The police seem to go around in small groups they have no chance of stopping anything when they come up against 50 or more migrants .

If we can go along side a dinghy  when the sea is a bit rough and take off those that are to scared to go any further why can’t we take them all off and take them back to France 🙄

Three Points, ref all of this:-

1) If the Migrants can find out where to meet the Smugglers, to pay for and arrange transport, why cannot the French Police?

2) Allowing the Migrant Boats to enter the water, with passengers, must contravene the SOLAS agreement signed by France, which deems it to be illegal (unless strict safety standards are met)

3) The French own the water, as far out as the middle of the Channel, and should be ensuring the safety of everyone on it.

Why would ANY transit country, including countries of origin, want to hold onto these people? It just costs them money.
Are we so desperate for fruit pickers that we feel the need to put them up in hotels etc?
France has a bigger problem than the UK over this issue, they want shut the same as everyone else.
[censored] poor excuse using ageing populations. The real reason is......they’ve got no idea how to stop them.

We were slated over our Rwanda idea (it doesnt work for me). We did though, at least propose to house them there.
Here's how the EU handles it, starting with handing over a billion Euro's.

Wouldn't it be more prudent to find who is supplying these dinghies and cut off the supply?

These dinghies are no more than flat packs till they hit the beach. The outboard motors though are something else.
I had a  boat in Turkey, the outboard motor was what I had to register with the local authorities, I assume that was then transferred to a Government data base. There must be a paper trail on those engines.
Just makes me think, do our Border Force not take the engine numbers & backtrack them to dealer or ownership? Surely they must.

Good point!

Or

Set up a group of fake assylum seekers, get them to arrange on-beach meetings , where the boats will be inflated, and then arrest the smugglers there.

Both sides have to be on the Beaches before anyone sets sail (dinghy) towards the UK.

Keep Arresting the baddies!

A while back I saw on the tv there was someone from the UK sent a drone up and saw quite a few smallish camps . There was a journalist who followed migrants who worked  for one of the big papers ( can’t remember the name now ) but she was saying these camps are the last stage and as soon as they get the word from the traffickers there off to the beach to get in the dinghies. In one they were openly playing football near an industrial estate . Now if someone from the UK can find these camps with a drone why can’t the French . 😳😳
