Don't feel bad about what you question digitalis , I am one like you .
Thing is  some these people who you think ought to be  one hundred percent sensible because of their qualifications  and advice sometimes turn out to have an extraordinairy lack of common sense .
Some people seem to judge others on how " nice" they seem and yes Huw Edwards is one .

Sometimes -not oftentimes ;) - I think how lucky I am! ;) I have shortcomings,I feel sure I would have fallen or made some mistake if I had of held any high office. As a Joe Normal my faults or shoprtcomings as such never came to much. Then,I never really sought 'high office'. Then,I have had wrong done to me by high office. I also do believe in some folke but always remember some folke have feet of clay,as I have myself.

I dont know what happened to the man. At this time it doesnt look good. Thoughts to his family and relatives.

Two contradictory thoughts: Why would you be out walking in 40c temperatures,no shade, heat warnings all about. Second thought: I am not Dr. Mosely! He might have assessed his own physical abilities and the journey of the walk he was doing and all else, then thought he was okay to go walk. We all will never know.

How very sad .

If there is a positive, then good he has been found for the family's sake, at least they know what has happened.

People like to explore caves, but also may have sought shelter from the heat. That explains why the helicopters etc couldn't see him

Very sad though

Was it a cave ?
He was sighted  from the sea by a fence on land owned by a bar keeper who went to investigate .
He was only a few metres from the beach
Was it 40 degree heat ?
That seems pretty hot even for Greece

He’s 67 he may have had a heart attack poor man .
The autopsy will find out how he died .

That's what I thought too, Muddy.
They'd have had a job seeing him from a boat if he'd been inside a cave, wouldn't they.

I agree with your last paragraph too.   More sensible than some of the other fanciful guesswork suggested.

I read the comments about Dr Mosely in the Daily Mail from its readers the other day. Most - I would say all - were positive about the man and felt he had informed them for the better

In the Sunday Times today there was a report of him being a new breed of man called a 'Gonzo' reporter and doctor. I read the piece with interest.

In the Sunday Telegraph today on page 3 in large script was the report that temperatures were 47c there(Greece)

Far too dangerous a temperature to  be walking about in ? Plus rocky areas gather heat .
Cctv from the marina has now been looked at which shows  the doctor gingerly picking his way down a slope close to a fence then falling out of view at 3.44pm last Wednesday. He was not seen to get up .
