Number was withheld. My father's day cards are in my lounge. It sounded like the same man who phones to say Christmas is cancelled.

My Dad died 27 years ago now,  and my Mum went 10 years ago.

61 years since my dad died, not long after JFK. I was 17. I feel sad that he never got a retirement, I enjoy mine so much.

Fathers Day is something i've never had to worry about. My Mum got divorced when i was only a baby, and she never ever spoke about him. I remember when i was about 5yrs old and in the house alone, once, searching to see what i could find. There was just one photo, my Mum standing on the church steps, wearing her white dress, but ......... it had been torn in half and he was missing.

My OH  has but one picture of his mother .
His parents parted when he was 14 and his father cut her out of every photo graph .
Luckily an aunt had a picture that she gave him as an adult .
I think this was very sad .
