I know someone has to pay for care, but it seems unfair that you're expected to sell your house, the house that you've worked hard for all your life.  When someone else who hasn't scrimped and saved, and have spent all their money in the pub or betting shop, is 'free' care because he has no savings.

Social workers try it on. BIrmingham City Council is Bancrupt. It does have plenty of assets to sell.

I've been chatting to a man who has a sister is a Social Worker who has complained about only having 3 days work a week and needs to earn more. He asked her what she was earning and the answer was £35k pa!

I am surprised at that. Social Workers have loads of work in Birmingham.
